Here’s a delightful recipe for homemade Air Fryer Poppy Seed Brioche Buns, perfect for sharing with your family:
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (120 ml) milk, warm
1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 egg yolk (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
Instructions:
Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Make the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
Shape the buns: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Second rise: Cover the shaped buns with a cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed up.
Preheat the air fryer: While the buns are rising, preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the egg wash: In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and water. Brush the tops of the risen buns with the egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Air fry the buns: Place the buns in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Cool and serve: Allow the buns to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your soft and flavorful poppy seed brioche buns with butter or your favorite spread!
I hope you and your family enjoy these delicious buns!
