This soft, fluffy and aromatic bread is a real delight to start the day or accompany afternoon tea.
It is ideal for replacing traditional bread and goes perfectly with butter or cream cheese, especially when accompanied by a cup of coffee.
In addition to being tasty, this bread maintains its soft texture and freshness for 2 to 3 days, without hardening.
Ingredients:
150 ml of warm milk
½ tablespoon instant dry yeast (for bread)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 egg
1 pinch of salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
300 to 350 g of wheat flour
Extras:
2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine to grease the open dough
Sweetened milk for brushing bread
White sesame for sprinkling
Preparation method:
In a bowl, mix the warm milk with the sugar and yeast. Let it rest for 15 minutes until the yeast activates.
Add the egg, melted butter, salt and vanilla sugar (optional). Mix well and begin to gradually incorporate the flour, kneading until you obtain a soft and elastic dough.
Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size. The time may vary depending on the quality of the yeast and the room temperature.
Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, brush with melted butter and roll up like a roulade. Make shallow cuts at the top of the roll to give it a nice finish.
Let the bread rest again for 15-20 minutes.
Brush the bread with sweetened milk and sprinkle the sesame seeds on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 25 minutes, until lightly golden. Oven time may vary depending on the model used.
